La Vela means The Candle in Spanish. Both my mom and my dad are of Spanish descent. It was vital to incorporate my heritage into my brand name and some candle names. Why candles? Like many, I lost my job due to the pandemic. I lost it all—my benefits, my health insurance, and most importantly, my stream of income. I had to find a way to provide for myself and my son. So, I purchased my first candle kit, and the rest is history.

Each candle is naturally crafted and hand-poured in a tiny NYC apartment. Our candles are made with the finest ingredients using coconut soy wax, phthalate-free fragrance, and cotton wicks. I hope you love them as much as I enjoy making them.
